I traveled to Australia from May 9-21 of 2019 to learn more about their criminal justice system. Australia started out as a penal colony because the United Kingdom would send their convicts there to get rid of them. As we traveled from Melbourne to Sydney and then to Brisbane, we studied their system of law and how it differs from the criminal justice system in the United States.
